Rachel Lawrence

Dancer

Rachel Lawrence was born and studied in Glasgow while training as an associate of The Royal Ballet School at mid and senior level. She graduated with a First Class Bachelor of Arts in Professional Dance and Performance from Central School of Ballet, London, following a UK tour with the Ballet Central Company through England, Scotland and Wales.

Further studies took her to Geneva where she trained with the Ballet Junior de Genève as well as interning in costume and stage design. In 2009 Rachel joined the Tanz Luzerner Theater, under the direction of Kathleen Mcnurney as a soloist member until 2017, creating roles such as the Nurse in Matjash Mrozewski’s “Romeo and Juliet”, Helena in Jochen Heckmann’s “A Mid Summer Night’s Dream”, “Giselle” by Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Aurora/the lilac fairy in Stijn Celis’ “The Sleeping Beauty” and Clara in Kinsun Chan’s remake of the Nutcracker “Nuts!” as well as working with internationally renowned choreographers Cayetano Soto, Caroline Finn, Luca Signoretti, Ihsan Rustem, Andonis Foniadakis and Felix Landerer. Since 2011, Rachel has coached ballet and modern dance at various schools in Lucern as well as festivals and schools in Belgium and Italy. Rachel is a freelance artist and choreographer’s assistant. She also works as a stylist and designer’s assistant, assisting in London and Paris Fashion weeks and currently works for Issey Miyake, Zurich.
